Author-illustrator Shelley Johannes will share her journey from shy, artistic child to published author, focusing on the writing advice that changed the course of her life.
Shelley Johannes is the author/illustrator of the acclaimed Beatrice Zinker, Upside Down Thinker chapter book series, and two buoyant picture books, More Than Sunny and This Joy! Her forthcoming picture book, What Are You Waiting For?, written by Marcy Campbell, releases in 2025.
A former architectural designer, Shelley now makes books for kids from her childhood home in Michigan, where she lives with her husband, two sons, and three adorable birds.
Luncheon Event Details As an honored Student Author, your lunch is our gift to you, compliments of the Michigan Reading Association. You are welcome to bring up to 5 guests; however, their meal tickets must be purchased. The costs are listed in the registration form. Please contact MRA at 616-647-9310 with any questions.
