MRA General Information

Of the 30 reading councils, 4 are special interest groups:

* Michigan Council on Learning for Adults
* Celebrate Literacy A Student Society/IRA

10 regional representatives elected from 10 areas across the state of Michigan.

Over 30 committees voluntarily chaired by MRA members.

Michigan Reading Journal published 3 times yearly with a circulation to all members.

News and Views on Reading published 4 times yearly with a circulation to all members.

Publishes professional journals, pamphlets, and other literature in support of literacy.

Provides awards, stipends, and grants for membership.

Hosts annual March literacy conference, over 4,000 attendees.

Hosts annual spring leadership training conference for local reading council officers.

Hosts annual summer literature conference.
